For Alex's birthday I surprised him with a trip.
I wanted to go somewhere neither of us had been. He had never been to the West Coast and I had never been North of Port Angeles. Flying into Seattle was the first idea I had. We could explore the city, rent a car and head north to the Olympic Peninsula.
And that is what we did!
I had met Tony and Vicki, a magical couple, when I had been driving cross country a year ago and they took us in for a night when we first arrived. Their beautiful home offered a breathtaking view of Seattle, a short walk to Pikes Place Market, and even more importantly a place to rest our sleepy heads.
From there, we woke up early and headed North.
From sleeping inches away from the crystal clear Lake Cresent and hiking along windy mountain ridges to bathing alone in natural mountains-side hot springs in the PNW forest, this north western most part of the country was nothing short 0f spectacular.
You name it.
PNW does it well.
Shout to all of those magical humans who gave us advice on what to see, where to pitch our tents, good food to eat etc etc. Ya'll ROCK.
Whether it was raining, we were stuck in a hail storm or the sun was shining bright, we had the best days in the OP and give it a 10 out of 10, for experience AND photo opps!
