how listening to my intuition brought me my dream home

It was probably past 11:00 PM on Wednesday September 11th, my dad’s birthday, and I had gotten “home” an hour or so before. I was “living” at my brother’s house, with his fiancé, while he was playing professional basketball in Australia for the summer. I’d moved in a few months prior, after I’d gotten back to New Hampshire, from living on a bus driving across the country with one of my best friends, whom my heart desperately needed space from. Not for any reason, other than it’s just what I needed, what we both needed. What we all needed. Me. Him. The oneness of all. I was out of alignment, which in turn meant, the universe was, you know what I mean?

So, anyway, I had gotten into bed about an hour earlier when all of a sudden I had an intuitive hit to sit up, grab my phone and go on craigslist and search for “converted sprinter vans in Denver, Colorado”.

This was kind of silly, considering I lived in New Hampshire. But I was listening.

What is an intuitive hit you may be wondering?

Well, for me, it can be anything from a repeating voice in the back of my head to a sharp and sudden thought that seems to come out of nowhere. It’s different than the repeating stories we tell ourselves over and over again, or the continuous worries we have spiraling around in our minds. It’s different because it’s out of my control. It’s not a random thought or worry I create. It’s a completely out of the blue idea, saying or “demand” that is thrown at me like a dodgeball I just don’t see coming. Random. Weird. Sort of quiet, but get’s louder and louder the more I surrender to listening.

A few months prior I’d been hit with another intuitive pang that kept saying every morning as I went for a walk and randomly throughout the day “go buy an easel and paint. go buy an easel and paint.” This was random, because A. I had never painted in my life (other than maybe middle school art class) and B. I had no conscious thoughts of ever even wanting to paint.

This intuitive hit was validated by my own intuition mentor, who in a session with me one day said “have you ever thought about painting?” My jaw dropped and I said “uhhhh” and she said “One of your spirit guides is begging to be painted. Go buy an easel and paint.” And so I did. And so I have painted over 50 canvases since, selling a handful of them.

So, back to September 11th at 11 ish at night, when I got hit with a “demand” from my inner voice that said “Go on craigslist and search for ‘converted sprinter vans in Denver, Colorado’”, I sat up in bed, and did exactly that.

The second van that popped up was my “dream van”. Truly, it was the van I had been imagining in my mind for a long time. I emailed the guy letting him know I was super interested and would be happy to fly out to Colorado and look at it. And then I surrendered. No pressure. If it was the one, it would be the one. But I let it go and went back to bed.

The next day, I received an email from the guy on craigslist, and he let me know that he had a sudden change in plans and he had to drive the van from Denver to Boston. My jaw dropped. I lived less than an hour away from Boston.

A week later he was in Boston, I drove down to look at it, and the moment I stepped inside I felt at home, I felt a calm confidence fall over me and I knew this was my new home.

It gets better ya know….

A month or so before that I had been driving somewhere with my dad, and I looked over to him and said, “I am going to manifest $20,000.00 in this bank account by September 1st (I think that was the date). In just two weeks I had done exactly that. I was with my dad that day, I believe we were walking the dog, and I said “I’m going to manifest $40,000.00 by October 1st”.

Do you think I did it?

Absolutely.

Did it look exactly like one would LOVE to have $40,000.00 look in their bank account?

Not exactly.

But, in the form of a loan, I had indeed manifested over $40,000.00 on exactly the date of October 1st, the day I bought my van.

You see, intuition is a powerful tool. A very powerful tool, that we are all in connection with, every single day.

And what the heck does intuition have to do with manifestation?

Well, a lot.

But for now, let me leave you with what I have personally learned when it comes to receiving what you desire, while in congruence listening to your inner voice.

  1. Put what I want out into the universe (AKA ask).

  2. Become still, at least once a day, and lean into what simply FEELS good in my life at that very moment.

  3. Listen.

  4. Surrender. Let go of expectations, and simply live life to it’s very fullest in the capacity that I can with what I have in the very present moment.

  5. Act on my inner voice (my intuition)…the pings that I receive that seem sudden, random and totally bizarre….they are leading me somewhere I never could imagine.

I said to a friend recently, “You don’t know, until you know.” We can create stories, one after the other, on repeat in our heads, but we don’t actually KNOW any answers until, well, we live it, and we KNOW…”

Ya know?

I hope this leaves you with something, anything, a small nugget of wisdom for listening to your own intuition, because I KNOW and I TRUST that the inner voice that lives within you, is just awaiting you to listen, to surrender, but most importantly ASK for what it is you truly desire.

PS My next Workshop is March 14th and we DIVE INTO INTUITION :)
